Boudoir photographs have been around for over a century so far and in the last few decades, they are rising in popularity amongst American women seeking something sexy, yet empowering. Boudoir photographers are often hard to choose from so decide what you want early. While women photographers appeal to your personal sense, a man as a photographer will be able to produce what a man will find sexy much easier. If we knew what each other found sexy, life would be a lot easier.

Why:
The ability to feel comfortablein our own skin either for ourselves or a loved one has an adventurous appeal. It is not like anything you have ever done,it is a special event whre you can act on any impulse.

History:
Though it is tough to pin-point exactly when this started, it is often noted that the French and Belgian prostitutes of the late 9th century would make postcards or images for their customers as a momento or to advertise for new business.

Modern times:
With the advent of the sexual revolution and publications like Playboy, the female body depicted in photographic form was taken from a purely lewd connotation to a personal expression.

Lingerie, nudity, cosmetic surgery, costumes and fantasy:
Today's relaxe denvironment allows women to act out a role, or fantasy infront of the camera without the fear of judgement. From lingerie being a special order or special occasion piece of wardrobe to everyday wearability, to costumes and role playing, anything a person feels they want to act on is now available to them.

With the advent of things like the internet, nudity is less of a taboo with the familiarity technology has made available. Affordable plastic surgery and even photoshop can help sculpt or assist a subject subtly without looking like so bizarre computer creation. This is a topic that comes and goes often, many people immediately think of nudity, but it is not always the case. With proper direction, sex appeal can come through just about anything.

Breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, and other procedures lead to a new you, and what better way to document it than with photographs designed to show it off. The affordability of procedures and the perfect customization of how one wants to look is here and very reliable.

Costumes are often employed just like halloween for a fun, out-of-the-norm playtime. Clients request things like fairies, uniforms, princess-like gowns, to favorite sports teams, cheerleader outfits and just about anything imaginable.

Fantasy themes are supported by anything you can imagine. Be it for herself or lover, women will pick themes to work with and often supported by costumes or lingerie to complete the feel. Common themes in the late 20th century have been items of extravegance and often out of the bedroom. From motorcycles, to romps on the beach, exotic cars, sporting locations or stadiums and quasi-public places, the current sprit is adventure.

Experience:
For the last 15 years, I have been shooting boudoir photographs for women in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. From the mansions of Beverly Hills, to Pacific Beach, I have travelled far and wide to get the perfect locations and look. With experience working with famous photographers and lots of shooting time on my own, I have come to appreciate every angle, spot of light, little curl of hair, and setting just the right mood. Having worked with Playboy and Victoria's Secret, the possibilities are endless.

Equipment:
Technology is no substitute for ability, so I use whatever piece of equipment suits the environment the best. I can shoot film or digital as I process and scan my own film. Nobody sees the work out of my controlled environment.

Special things and trends:
Depending on what a client wants and what fits the budget, I have rented Harley's, private jets, horses on the beach along the coast in Mexico, hired a live tiger, and even rented an RV to shoot out in an old dry lakebed and ghosttown. One location I am very excited to use is a recreation of the Moulin Rouge when it opened in the late 1800's.

The modern luxury goods and themes are always helping to steer the shoot. Being body painted, having liquid latex poured on, and incorporating exotic cars and live animals also work well. If you can dream it, we can do it.

Even having a single coffee table book made, a magazine mocked-up, calendars and getting an image a day by email are things we do for clients often.

Being discrete:
As if you have not already noticed, I have only images of models here. That being said, I take the privacy of my clients to extremes. Having worked with celebrities and politicians, I understand that everyone needs to feel comfortable and I respect that with my clients.
